Your level
beginner: You wish to try a totally new style of dance
elementary: You have somewhat experimented with this styles: stepdancing or tap (basics)
intermediate: You have a good basic stepdancing technique and wish to perfect your abilites in this style as well as widen your repertory of steps.
advanced* : You master stepdancing technique and want to refine your execution, perfect your rythmic ear, widen your repertory of steps and develop your ability to improvise
* advanced classes we will be opened if the demand is high enough
Please note: if you are not sure at what level you should start, your first class may be a trial class. We will then be able to decide the best level for you. If you do not wish to register for the entire semester after takin the trial class, you may simply pay this class and be on your way.
Private classes adpted to your needs and level are also available upon demand.
Our teacher
MARIE-SOLEIL
PILETTE currently work as a choreographer,
a caller and a contemporarys and traditional stepdancer. She spent years studying
various styles including contemporary dance at several schools, particularly
specializing in traditional stepdancing. Having graduated with a bachelor's
in dance from UQAM, she has performed with la Cie de Danse ethnique Migration
and the Zogma Collective. She is currently
dancing with the Rapetipetam trio (lead by Pierre Chartrand), and soloing
in various projects, as well as
her own work, throughout North America and Europe. She is also
invited to teach stepdancing accross Canada and the United States. Founder of
SANS TEMPS danse company, she has choreographed original pieces that mix Québec
stepdancing and contemporary dance.

If you don't have stepdancing nor tap shoes, bring shoes with smoth soles (for example, leather sole shoes, or even very old running shoes!)
